How to read a broker's public reviews
Stars are a signal, not a verdict. Here is how to read between them.
Volume and rating together
A 5.0 rating from three reviews tells you less than a 4.8 from two hundred. Top Brokers hides star averages until a listing has at least three public reviews, and our ranking weighs review volume alongside rating.
Look for specifics
Useful reviews mention the kind of loan, how communication went, and what happened when something went wrong. Generic praise is pleasant but tells you little about fit.
Read the recent ones
Businesses change: staff move, teams grow. Recent reviews describe the service you are likely to get today.
Reviews are not credentials
Reviews describe experiences. They do not confirm licensing, panel size or fees. Ask the broker for their credit guide and licence details, and check them on ASIC's registers.
Talk to two
Shortlist two or three brokers whose reviews mention situations like yours, then have a short conversation with each. Fit and clarity matter as much as stars.
